Shepherd’s Festival
Which is the most beautiful sheep in the whole village? The most beautiful black-nosed sheep of the year is honoured at the traditional shepherd's festival in Zen Stecken. In addition to the lovingly coiffed sheep, a varied festive programme and the birthday party for Zermatt's mascot Wolli provide plenty of entertainment. A cosy get-together is guaranteed at this traditional event.
UPDATE 2024: This year the shepherd's festival will not take place on Sunday, but we will not let the fun of washing sheep be taken away! On Saturday 07.09.24 we hope to see you all in large numbers at the sheep washing!

Programs
Programs Saturday:
- Morning: Washing the blacknose sheep in Zen Stecken at the Forest Fun Park or at Tradition Julen's sheepfold
- CHF 20.00 per person with aperitif and lots of fun :)
Programs Sunday (2024 Cancelled): - 11.00 am: field church service including music
- Noon: refreshments with traditional Ländler music
- 01.30 pm: election of the most beautiful black-nose sheep
- 3.00 pm: Wolli’s birthday party, games for children, prize-giving including the award for the “Wolli of the Year”
